I'm interested in using my computer to record some music (just as a hobbie) I want to add my vocals to songs and create my own music for my friends to enjoy.

What programs do I need? What equipment or software do I need?

I want it to sound really good, with really good clarity. I'm more concerned with the quality of the music, rather than the price, the price isn't too big of a deal.

Get a shure sm58 microphone $99 and sonar 5 and learn how to use it , it is the best to record with to day. Greeeeaaaat sound.
