basically what i'm trying to say what is the best format of music.
(mp3, wav, etc). i know mp3 is a large file and wav is smaller than mp3. but i also need a format that can be able to stream music on my site.
What music format is good for playing music on your site?

WAV files are MUCH larger than MP3 files. The best source would be a flash applet that plays FLA files, like the kind of player you see on MySpace. FLA files are a lower quality, low file size format that is used widely for web multimedia.
