the do wop era of music died because the artist and record company kept putting the same sounding music as others did is rap heading down the same path

well ONE good thing about doo wop ( two o's) is the fact that the artists sang about L-O-V-E.

The artists did not use four letter words, use the n word, promote violence, call women the b word, rap about using them as sex objects or glamorize violence as a means to assuage one's hurt feelings.

Doo wop artists weren't closely associated with going to jail or being arrested because they didn't have manners or know how to comport themselves in public.

So, rap may die simply because so many of the artists themselves lead such tragic lives; dying young, going to jail, catching a case, being sued for a litany of reasons

At some point all of the slovenliness of rap music

will prayerfully go out of style.

Bring back music lyrics which express love for a man for a woman

God i hope so
Oh, migod, yes. It is already in the throes. Too late to save. Rappers are either going into hip hop or going legit as singers of songs and/or actors. It's a scramble out there.
all music is going to turn into one monotonous sound that brainwashes you into buying things..... it will be called marketing music
Well it could. People still sing stuff from the do wop era, so if rap dies out you can still be singing it too.
i've got my fingers crossed that it will, but I think the real killer of rap will be its preoccupation with worshipping criminals and illegal acts
It seems as if that will happen. Everything is about one of 5 things in 90% of mainstream hip-hop today:

1. Sex

2. Drugs

3. Money

4. Being a "gangsta" when they know they aren't

5. Jewels/Bling

Although this kind of hip-hop has been around for quite some time, it's really become what people hear when they listen to rap on the radio. True hip-hop is about being creative in your flow, lyrics, and beats while telling a story. Not a story about how you shot an innocent person or about how many hoes you got, but a story about real-life situations, stories about growing up, criticizing the wrongs in society, etc. Some may say that "OMG!!! It soundz so BoRING!" But it's not. It's music at its finest and is very creative.

90% of Rap today all sounds the same. It's about having something to dance to in a club or selling a ringtone. That's it.
