Downloading music onto Nokia 6126 cell phone...?

My cell phone said it came with a music player, but how do I download music from limewire or itunes onto it? My phone model is Nokia 6126. Yes, I have looked in the manual but it didn't say anything about downloading music.

You move the MP3 files off of your computer onto your phone using either Bluetooth or a USB cable.

Take a look in the box your phone came in and see if there is a nasty looking cable that has that wide-and-strange Nokia connector on one end and a USB connector on the other. (Mine didn't come with one, so yours might not either).

To use Bluetooth, your computer also would have to have bluetooth. Most recent Macs have it, and you can get a Bluetooth "dongle" (yeah, that's what they're called) for somewhere between $5 and $20. (Make sure you get Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0, and always be suspicious of absurdly low prices). BTW, if you get one of these, you can also sync your address book to your computer's address book.

You might have to fool around a while to learn how to do these but:

1) Turn on your phone's bluetooth. (Don't leave it on all the time; the 6126 has a weak battery as is, and bluetooth will drain it that much faster since it's powering yet another antenna).

2) Figure out how to "pair" your phone with your computer. Ideally, set them both to forever 'trust' each other, so you don't have to type in a PIN each time you want to do a transfer.

3) Figure out how to "browse" your phone's memory from the computer. From my Mac, this is done with "Bluetooth File Exchange" in the Apps%26gt;Utilities folder; don't remember how it's done with a Windoze machine, but it'll be more awkward, of course.

4) Figure out how to shove MP3 files onto your phone. Put them in the microSD expansion card (you did get a big 2GB one, right?), otherwise the built-in memory will fill up instantly.

5) Wander through your phones menus until you find "Music Player". (My is under Fun %26amp; Apps %26gt; Media"; but that might not be right for you if you aren't T-Mobile).

6) You can play via the little on-board speakerphone, but the only way of getting stereo is through the wired headphones they should have included with your purchase. You can use a bluetooth connection, but since the 6126 doesn't support A2DP, it'll only be lower quality mono.

Also, while I'm at it: the phone has a pretty good FM radio, too, although it doesn't work via speakerphone (the headset apparently functions as an antenna).

I've included some links below; you might take a look a bookmark 'em. If you log in to my.t-mobile.com you should see an option for 'Your phone' somewhere on the right side of the page; it'll give you more info. [BTW, the Nokia 6126 is the same as the Nokia 6133]. If you're on a PC (not Mac), then from the Nokia website make sure you look at and download the Nokia software suite.
