On Amazon.com and other music sites that sell digital song downloads, they have a 30-second preview of the song. In the same way, if I were to sell a movie, would it be okay to have a few short clips from the movie I'm selling, say 15-sec. Or should I just stick to showing the preview? Does anyone know the legalities surrounding having music clips and movie clips online for the purpose of selling the product?

I think you're better off referring the potential buyer to a site already hosting the previews and clips. This keeps you away from any liability, I would think.
