Music Editors!?

Hey!



I am looking for a free to download music editor... all I need to do is change the key 1 tone higher on a song I have



Where can I download such music editor?



Or! even better! Can do this on Windows Media Player 11?!



If so HOW!?!



I have been looking for a while now!

I presume you have an mp3, or something, and not a midi file, because the following method wouldn't work for midi songs.



1) download Audacity:

2) start Audacity, and load the music file in question



3) Choose Edit %26gt; Select %26gt; All



4) Choose Effect %26gt;Change Pitch...



5) Type a value in the Semitones field, such as 2 (2 half steps higher), or -3 (3 half-steps lower)



6) Click the Preview button to try out your change



7)When satisfied, click OK.



If you want to encode the song back to mp3, you need the lame encoder installed as well. More about that here:
