Your type of music?

I just wanted to know what type of music my LGBT brothers and sisters were into. So tell me, what artists and/or types of music do you like, and why, and what types of music you dislike?

i like:

David Bowie, Bob Dylan, the Velvet Underground, Nico, Joy Division, The Smiths, Interpol, the Killers, Devendra Banhart, Beck, Metric., Johnny Cash, Serge Gainsbourg, La Ley, Caifanes, etc.

I guess I prefer rock music (especially the older ones), because I find it much more creative than other genres. I personally don't like rap (actually I hate it with a passion) because it's too offensive and homophobic for my tastes. I'd rather hear a song about a heroin addiction than a bunch of dudes dressed up in gold jewelry and gold teeth "sing" about how tough their life was in the ghetto and how they love/hate bitches and ho's

Metal/Punk/Rock are my faves. I used to be a drummer in a punk band back in high school and college.

I also dislike "gangsta" and "thug" rap. I don't like the message it sends out. The old-skool hip hop was cool, way back in the 80's; they had something new and fresh.

i am 20 years old but i am old school i like the 70's 80's music better than all the rest ...
I have very eclectic tastes...anything from traditional Irish to techno. For me to like something, it has to have lyrical or melodic value. Often, even if I don't like the quality of the singer's voice, I may like the lyrics enough to become a fan- Julie Miller and Sam Phillips spring to mind here. I loathe rap and hip-hop anything...because to me, they lack in any kind of value or beauty in the lyrics and melodies.
A little bit of everything, except country, that's just bleeurgh. I used to be a fan of kd lang but her music is all torch and no twang these days, it's awful. I'm an 1980's teenager so a lot of music from that era still appeals to me. I don't have a favourite singer/band at the moment, but I do listen to a lot of music.

I like selective songs, not all songs of a particular genre or artist.

but i too appreciate genres like New Age, VGM (video game music or you can call it Instrumental), Classical, Latin

I like HUGE variety of music. Anything thats dancey from the last 100 yrs really. I like some classical, opera, 20s %26amp; 30s dance bands, rock%26amp;roll....lots of different stuff.

i like bowie, and dylan too, i like all kinds of music, well, most, i like 50's,60's, 70's, 80's and some 90's rock, i like country, raggae,bluegrass, jazz, blues, earlier metal, early punk... and very few of the newer rock, rap, death metal etc. i'm very easy to get along with in the musical sense!
